McRobies Gully Waste Management Centre
McRobie's Gully has been in operation since 1975 and occupies approximately 20 hectares in the foothills of Mt Wellington. The site takes general mixed and domestic wastes, C&D waste and some hazardous waste. The centre includes a Recycling Wall for the drop off of recyclables, a green waste mulching and composting facility and the Resource Hobart Tip Shop.

Resource Collectables/Tip Shop
Resource Tip Shop is one of the longest running and most successful reuse shops in Australia. Every year, Resource diverts thousands of reusable goods from landfill, including building materials, household goods, gardening equipment, electricals, clothing and sporting goods. It is a not-for-profit self-funding cooperative, supporting over twenty workers and supplying goods to the community at affordable prices.

Jackson St Waste Management Centre
At the Glenorchy Landfill Site, visitors will see the Recycling Drop off Facility and the AGL run Gas Generator which extracts methane gas and pumps it as electricity into the main grid. Following the Recycling Drop Off facility, is the newly upgraded Household Hazardous Waste Facility which accepts oil, paint and gas bottles. The tour will visit the landfill and see the Concrete Crushing Operation, the tip face, the Quarantine Waste Disposal Area and the Hazardous waste and Controlled Waste Area. Weather permitting the tour will see a demonstration ofthe Posi-shell Cover spray system.

Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station
Mornington Park is a modern Waste Management Facility which can handle almost any waste material. The site incorporates a Tip Shop, recycling stations and green waste disposal. Visitors to the site will see the recycling aspects, the push pit waste transfer area and the tip shop which sells an odd assortment of items from clothing through to furniture and jewellery.
