Following on from the very successful conferences in 2005 and 2007, the 3rd National Landfill and Transfer Station Conference will be held in Hobart, Tasmania from 26 - 28 August 2009.

This year’s conference theme “operating in a carbon constrained environment” has been adopted to focus transfer stations and landfill operations on the new challenges now facing our industry sector as we approach the introduction of emissions trading and the effects it will have on the waste management industry.

The conference will be held at Wrest Point in Hobart from 26 – 28 August 2009.  Day 1 of the conference program will include site visits to landfills, transfer stations and other facilities in the Hobart area.  Days 2 and 3 of the program will consist of keynote, technical and case study presentations. The conference will include a trade exhibition and we are also considering offering a choice of workshops on Day 1

The conference will be of particular interest to: industry managers; regulators; local government councillors and staff; state and federal government; consultants; service providers; planners; environment managers; academics and engineers.

I look forward to seeing you in Hobart for a great Landfill and Transfer Stations Conference and Exhibition.
