The Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest and one of its most well-known wine regions. Here you will find world-class Hunter Valley Semillon that has been called “Australia’s unique gift to the world’, great Australian Shiraz that lasts for generations, and generations of family winemakers who are here to tell the tale.

Not only is the Hunter Valley known for its wine, discover some of the best regional produce, such as cheeses, olive oil and olives and enjoy the delights of our acclaimed chefs and their own unique, but distinctly Australian style. Walk, ride or drive your way through the sweeping vine-lined hills. If you are looking to explore, there are many aspects of the Hunter Valley unknown to most visitors. Whether it is a cellar door or an antique shop hidden down a quiet laneway, historic towns and convict built roads, or ancient indigenous sites, there is something waiting to be discovered.
The climate in the Hunter Valley is moderate, similar to a Mediterranean climate. As the summer rolls on and autumn days draw closer, many of the vine leaves turn a warm orange-red hue and start dropping off the vines. Autumn is the time to celebrate nature’s bounty and the year’s harvest. The Semillon & Seafood Festival takes place in April every year and the Lovedale Long Lunch and Harvest Celebrations occur in May. |
