NSW CDS Working Group update |

This working group is one of six in operation along with:
- Collections
- Local Government
- Industry and retailers
- Technology and innovation
- Jurisdictional (NSW, QLD, SA, NT, ACT governments)
The group is examining the issues related to the interaction of the scheme with kerbside and MRFs. A second meeting is scheduled for 29 August 2016, by which time it is expected that draft legislation may be available to undergo a public consultation process.
A major issue under discussion was glass and the problems of handling the material through the supply chain.

EPA VIC issues City of Ballarat remedial notice |
|
Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has issued the City of Ballarat with a remedial notice that requires it to re-cover waste from the former Black Hill Landfill exposed during the construction of a swale drain.
EPA South West Manager Eve Graham said an EPA officer inspected the drain along the southern boundary of the old site during an inspection. |

Community Waste Grants Funding (WA) |

The Waste Authority invites community groups with an interest in waste management projects in their local areas to apply for a grant from the Community Grants Scheme (CGS).
The Waste Authority will offer grants of up to $20,000 per project. |
