EPA VIC updates landfill licence conditions |

As part of the 2015/2016 review of landfill licences, landfill conditions have been updated and new conditions have been developed. The document also provides some updated guidance to landfill operators and environmental auditors with gaining EPA approval for construction of new landfill cells and leachate ponds at existing landfills.

Illegal dumping campaign launched (VIC) |

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is rolling out an advertising campaign in north-west Victoria as part of its focus on reducing the illegal dumping of construction and demolition (C&D) waste.
Set to run until December, the campaign supports the work of EPA’s Illegal Dumping Strikeforce Program by highlighting the costs and risks of illegally dumping materials such as bricks, timber, asbestos and contaminated soil.

The new 2MW power station which opened on Thursday (26 September) in Hamburg, Germany connects battery packs from more than 100 EVs to store energy which is available within seconds. The joint project with Bosch and Vattenfall will see the latter sell the stored energy on to primary control reserve markets, along with power from other flexibly controlled facility. |
