The International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) has established Regional Development Networks to more effectively implement its programs outside its traditionally strong areas (ie Western Europe and North America.).

The aims are:

  • promotion of sustainable waste management in the regions;
  • networking for solving problems locally;
  • promotion of ISWA and linkage to ISWA programs; and
  • member recruitment (National Members, organisation members, and individual members).

So far 3 networks have been established:

  • The Asia-Pacific Regional Network (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand);
  • The Balcanien, Middle East and Mediterranean Regional Network (Turkey and Israel); and
  • The Latin America Regional Network (Argentina and Brazil).
